Pirogue 14-29

Pirogues are flat bottom hulls made from 3 panels. The flat bottom provides excellent primary stability and can carry much weight while drafting little water. For simple paddling and building, they are the best!

Pirogues perform excellent in shallow, calm waters, for casual paddling. Intended paddling position is sitting or kneeling on the hull bottom. They do not have as much secondary stability as other canoes so they can feel unstable if sitting high above the floor level. But if you have a good sense of balance, you'll be surprized what you can do!

Our 14-29 measures 14' (4.3 m) long and 29" (.74 m) wide and is a symmetrical shaped hull (symmetrical meaning that the hull has the same shape in the front and back). This shape makes it easy to draw the panels and assemble.

It is intended as a solo hull but will perform well as a tandem for short trips with small paddlers. See chart below for recommended weight on board.
