Pirogue 500

Pirogues are flat bottom hulls made from 3 panels. The flat bottom provides excellent primary stability and can carry much weight while drafting little water. For simple paddling and building, they are the best!

Pirogues perform excellent in shallow, calm waters, for casual paddling. Intended paddling position is sitting or kneeling on the hull bottom.

Pirogues do not have as much secondary stability as other canoes. They can feel unstable if leaning over far or sitting high above the floor level.

The 500 was a custom design request for a large tandem boat that can safely carry 500 pounds. 15'6 x 36" (4.7m x .91m) and is a symmetrical shaped hull.
