re-coating an old finish

I'm sure this is covered somewhere, but I couldn't find it.
I'm about to re-coat the hull on the wife's Freedom 15.
Everything is sanded, but I'm wondering if I should wipe it down with a chemical wash to insure a good bond between the old epoxy & the new?

Looks wonderful!
My DNA got into my boat because I peed my pants when I realized, "This thing might actually float!".

Re: reduced stitching to okwata

My only concern would be "residue" left, that might prevent saturation of the epoxy to "bite" into the areas where the hot glue had been.
Any thoughts Matt?

If done properly, (as I can see you'll do), I wouldn't hesitate cutting in your transducer. Would you please post the finished weight?

Re: Dickie's Laker in the making

Nice looking build there Dickie. I'm going to tape painter's tape close to the seams of my 18' Freedom build to reduce the amount of "dookie schmutz" I have to sand back off on the exterior seams. It was pretty easy losing the top layer of laminate on my first build while sanding. The $ an...
