That boat is likely shorter, but it reminds me a lot of the AuSable River boats. They were also designed for poling, but they use a short pole while sitting and drifting downstream. Matt would know the differences better, but even with the Sasquatch being longer and wider and the South Wind being asymmetrical, the hulls look fairly similar below the waterline. I would expect them to run about the same pace. I have never paddled a Sasquatch, but the South Wind isn't all that nim...

I'm pretty sure that the plans call for at least taping the inside seams and you should follow them.
