Re: Sasquatch versus Southwind
Hey Matt, you ever thought about "a decked canoe design using the Sasquatch hull shape and panel count" ?? I think that would be, as they say, the bee's knees. Don't ask me who they are cause it's been a long time since I heard them say it, but I know it means something really good. Sounds...

Re: Sasquatch versus Southwind
Hmmm, so should we kick this over to the wish list and ask for a decked Sasquatch?

Sasquatch versus Southwind
I want to build more boats (don't we all) - definitely think something similar to the simple SOT I posted in the wish list section, will be on my short-term list. I also find myself back in need of a small tandem boat. I would really like input from the board as to the comparison of a Southwind 15-3...

Re: Got the Pirogue out and slimed
I like that idea. I intended to do slotted gunnels, then when I got close to done, I started trimming options, partially for weight but mostly I was ready to get done and floating.

Re: Got the Pirogue out and slimed
Not much of a report so I didn't want to start a new topic but here is a quick update on my touring pirogue. 3 trips now and I am lovin this boat more every time. Still not used to the way it planes across the current, but not sure that I don't like it, just gotta get used to it. Anyway, here are a ...

Re: Call it what you want to
Looks good, how does she paddle? I thought about doing an Eno (that almost sounds vulgar) when starting but decided on the touring pirogue which is an ideal first build, and great boat to boot.
I like the decks on back, what are the openings, something for beer
? or fishing
? or both
?

Re: SOT Canoe?
Awesome, I was seriously moving towards the simple SOT I inquired abaout in the wishlist section (and still probably will) but I love this idea.

Got the Pirogue out and slimed
Sorry I didn't get pics, but did finally get the boat out and had a blast. Pics may not have worked anyway as my photobucket account seems to be gone and I will have to restock and reload to my posts?? I also got a great start on my flyfishing - decided to leave all fishing gear at home other than m...

Re: Slider's Touring Pirogue
Although not complete - do you ever quit tweaking - today is supposed to be the day I get out of the "builders log" section into the "out and about", but thunderstorms are keeping me in garage :( I bought a plastic lawn chair and cut off the legs. Had planned to cut off the arms ...

Re: How bout this?
Would it be an issue if this were totally sealed in fiberglass - I know a few have concerns about sealed bulkheads, etc expanding and cracking?
One more plus - no inside hull to glass
