Re: Handles on Sabalo
Check out BEMM 52 Sabalo Build. That is where the integrated handle idea is illustrated. I am considering doing something similar on my Sabalo.

Re: Big Thicket Sabalo
Here is a short clip of my Sabalo finally in the water. I left all of the hatches open to check for leaks. Found a couple too.... I'm pretty sure I have located them both so maybe it will be a quick fix. I'm still playing with rudder designs.

Re: Big Thicket Sabalo
I managed to get a short video of the boat. I know my shop/garage is a mess.

Re: Big Thicket Sabalo
Well, She floats. There is at least one leak, possibly two. I'm waiting for her to dry and then I'll start searching. No pics yet. It is cloudy and rainy today. I'll get some pics if the sun ever comes out. I expect to have her seaworthy right about the the time the first arctic cold front gets here...

Re: sticky epoxy
All previous mixes cured within 6-8hrs. Something just wasn't right with this batch. Overnight with 1000watt work light still yielded sticky mess. I tried the heat gun too. No luck. I attempted to scrape it off but I am using SS@G method and the WRC just did not want to turn loose of all of that sti...

Re: sticky epoxy
I am almost through the first gallon and this is the only batch to do this. I know it isn't a manufacture issue. I did go a little thick on this coat.
Might that be the problem?

sticky epoxy
Question: How long do you wait on a sticky epoxy before deciding to sand it off and start over? I am at around 40 hours now and the last batch is still tacky and leaves fingerprints everywhere you touch it. I know i measured right. The only other possibility is the minor cold front that blew in a fe...

Re: Fishing lights
There are a bunch of pics online of people who have lit up their yaks. I don't want to post pics that I don't own. A quick Google search will show you dozens of setups. Some place the lights above the water line and others go down the bottom. I am seriously considering this.

Re: Fishing lights
Primary purpose is to attract bait fish which will then attract the bigger fish. They can also serve a secondary purpose of illuminating the bottom if the water is clear and/ or shallow.

Fishing lights
Does anyone use green lights for fishing? I have seen a few guys on another forum wiring LEDs through the scuppers and running along the bottom of the boat below the water line. Those super thin strip lights at Academy sure have me wondering if that idea could be translated into a wood-constructed c...
