Re: Paddle Board

Yeah, I think so. But I would think that it would need a little more rocker to handle waves and rougher water. The ability to mount a fin I think would help too. But I really dont know.

Paddle Board

Matt, Matt, you've mentioned before that you've worked on coming up with another paddle board design. I haven't heard anything recently so I was wondering if you had something in the works. I'm not even done with my first boat (which has taken me about 6 months) and I'm already thinking about my nex...

Re: thwart placement? Touring Pirogue T

OK. In my case the space from deck to deck is roughly eleven feet. So will I be OK structurally if I place my thwarts three feet from either deck, giving me a five foot space in between? That should give me plenty of flexility with my seating.
thanks a lot for the reply,

Chris

thwart placement? Touring Pirogue T

I'm now to the point of needing to place my thwarts on my touring pirogue T. I'm not sure where to place them. My decks are going to be about 18" front and back if that matters. I'm just not sure where the best place to sit will be, having never paddled a boat like this. Any suggestions on thwa...

touring pirogue T progress

Thought I'd post a couple pictures. It doesn't compare to some of the beautiful craftsmanship I've seen here, but as long as it floats and tracks relatively straight I'll be happy with it. I wasn't real neat with my gluing or my cuts so I have a lot of sanding ahead of me. Now that I have what looks...

Re: Dynel cloth or graphite?

Thanks for the reply. Do you know how it compares to graphite for abrasion resistance?
Thanks,

Chris

Dynel cloth or graphite?

I'm at the point now that I need to order my fiberglass. I plan to glass inside and out instead of taping. I was on Duckworks site and they have dynel cloth to improve abrasion resistance. Any one have any experience with this? I'm building the touring pirogue T that will mostly be used in a river t...
