tx river rat is Ron and the Barracuda is one he made for his pleasure. Ron or Matt can go into greater detail since it is one of a kind.

Still want to round off the lower bow/sterns stems but this is pretty close to the finished product.

 :D 8)

G.day Matt,

That looks a little like a big Laker - with an extra deck panel. Which is pretty close to what I was thinking of. The only think I can think of that I would like to change on that is to have the stern vertical to accomodate a rudder.

In my opinion, a rudder is vital in a tandem kayak.
Regards,
Mick

Oh yeah, 20 feet is fine by me, but again, rudder is necessary.

Mick

Do a good epoxy pour on the stern , an inch or more then you will need , that will make sure the rudder is secure.

G'day Chuck,

Of course mate. My problem with the sloping stem is getting the pivot point for the rudder right to facilitate a rudder that works as it should without creating too much drag.

Matt, what are the overall specs on this boat as drawn? ie length, beam and load capacity?
Regards,
Mick

Matt,
That is pretty slick looking...must be a larger, swedish form Laker.
What are the basic measurements and expected displacements?
Do you have strong feelings over a single large cockpit vs two smaller ones?
Is it a slight V-bottom, or flat?

I agree about the rudder. But changing how those aft panel interact and changing the current angles would cause some issues. What about fiberglassing on a mounting surface off the aft deck? Would be simple enough to do and it would be rock solid with the method I have in mind.
