Have registered but not been authorized yet so will post as a guest.
I like the 17ft & 27ft motorboats, but one is to big and one is to small (said Goldilocks LOL) Any plans for one in between say 20-21ft?. Also can the cabin be removed or is it part of the structure?. Is there a hole in the bottom of the boat for the O/B leg to go through?.
Sorry for all these questions but i am a true amature boat builder and just been ripped off for AU$180.00 for boat plans that i cannot understand, have had a pro builder look at then and he shuck his head. (plans not purchased from this site) So i am trying to make shore that what i want is what i get. I have bought some ply and my wife says if i gooff this time she will make a coffin out of it, "MINE". (just kidding, i hope)
Greate forum by the way.

Hi Ray,

You can try having a look at the 21' Garvey flex. Please see further details here:

The support for the superstructure is part of the frames, but if you like you can remove the cabin and just keep the frames supporting the hull.

Yes there is a hole in the bottom for the outboard. Another solution for the outboard is to have it at the transom. This will give you some more room inside the boat.

G'day Ray,

Welcome aboard mate.

I live about 3 hours north from you on the Fraser Coast.

While I have never built anything this ambitious. If I can help in any way just give me a shouth mate. If you are ever up this way, give me a shout and you are welcome to come round and have a look at the way I do my thing. :D.

I have seen a couple of Mortons fine plans now. They are clear and concise and easy to follow. As your build progreses, your skills and confidence will grow.

There is a lot of terrific back up here for any questions you might have or any problems you may encounter.

I make no secret or apology for the fact that I am very biased when it comes to Matt's and Mortons plans. I bloody love them. They are the best I have seen and by a long shot, the easiest to follow. I am confident in recommending them to you.

enjoy!!!
