12' Garvey flex

Post by Boatplans.dk »

Hello Builders,

The plans for the new 12’ dingy is ready for purchase. It is called 12’ Garvey flex so it became a new boat in the Garvey flex series. The plans are set at a introduction price for a short period. Hope you will enjoy the new design. The full description of the 12’ Garvey flex can be seen here www.boatplans.dk/mo-gf12.asp

I am looking for someone to build the first boat. For the project I will supply the plans, epoxy, fibre glass and filler needed for the building and in return you will have to sent me pictures of the building and the finished boat. If you are interested in participating in this project, please sent me an email with a introduction and some references.

Hey Builders,

Pass the word about this one. Here's what Morten is looking to do:

He will send you the plans at NO CHARGE.

You loft and cut out the panels and send him pictures.

He will then send you the epoxy, fiberglass, and woodflour at NO CHARGE. you get them for free!

Then you build and send him pictures. The only thing you pay for is plywood, the motor, and the paint and you have yourself a nice boat. He gets the benefits of having pictures of the boat built. That's a great deal! :)

Morten, Can you stretch the Garvey flex. to 15'? I got a 20hp long shaft out board in the shed that needs a home.

It is 14' but relatively wider than the 12'. It will cary a 20 hp outboard.

Morten some questions

Could you remove center seats and put in plywood floor with ribs?
Make the front seat larger for standing and fishing?
How wide is the boat.
How much plywood and epoxie would it use.

The boat can be build with 9 sheets of plywood. I haven’t calculated the amount of epoxy yet.

The boat is 1,622 m or 5’4”.

It would be possible to extend the forward seat abaft. Then leave out the two seats at the centre and then having a floor instead. The frames will still be needed. It will just demand more plywood and epoxy.
