tape edges unraveling

Post by popeye »

anyone have any tips or tricks to keep the edges of fiberglass tape from fraying? I have started cutting it a little long and at a bit of an angle and that seems to help some but it still unravels. any help is appreciated.

I've had limited success with leaving an extra couple inches and then applying a little masking tape to the cut edge to try and control the fraying.

If you put tape on before you cut the cloth, and then cut down the center of the tape, it leaves a piece of tape on both edges, it will help keep both edges from unraveling. I like to use the blue painter tape, because that is what I have most of.
