Hi Mat
I have re read "Dan's Pelagic" see it came as a kit. That means you must have worked out where to cut the hole in the sheets for the Mirage Drive before they were sent. How did you work this out?
I have some drawings to make up a drive well but am getting near to the point where I will need to fit this into the hull of the Wadefish I am building. I am hoping to get the well built in the next few days as i wait for the fibreglass.
Thanks in advance Pete

Dan provided that info based on the Hobie boat he had. CC Tex might be able to provide some insight.

Hi Pete,
The way that I did it was to setup a mock cockpit with the seat at the proper height and angle for a comfortable position, with the Hobie drive pedal adjustment set at the mid position. Find the location that fits for you with one pedal and leg extended all the way forward. Then, just reference the centerline of the drive well from the seat location.

Re: Location of Hobie Marage Drive
I thought I might get an answer like that as the financial controller said I might have to wait until I get back to work from Long Service Leave before I can get the drives.
Are those you plans on the Picture Trail web site under TX Kayak David? If so they are the ones I am intending to use.

Cutting the drive well opening can wait till later. Just don't install the floor or framing in that area. It could even be installed into a finished kayak; just much more difficult.
Yes, those are my plans. If you would like more details, I sent you a PM.

CC Tex,
I am thinking of possibly retrofitting my Sabalo. Can you pm me the info as well, please.
Thanks.
I may also just build a new boat like the Bluefin. Gotta finish the Okwatta and my strip canoe first though.
