Dumb Question. When sanding a graphite bottom, should I do it wet with wet and dry paper. It seems obvious but I thought there might be a problem.

Re: Sanding Graphite
it will be messy wet or dry. I've always done it dry if I needed to but I try to avoid it.

Re: Sanding Graphite
Did my Laker wet and it still floats so I guess that means there's no problem .
Actually I will always choose wet whenever the surface is waterproof ie once there is enough epoxy on it that I am sure it won't be sanded through. The abrasive last longer, you don't need to wear a mask and - in my opinion - wet hand sanding is almost as fast as machine sanding with the advantage of no noise.
As Matt said though both are messy.

Re: Sanding Graphite
I reckon that if I do it wet the nieghbours would appreciate it, especially with a nor-easter blowing.
