How would you compare the performance of the nothwind if I opened the cockpit to 11 ft and made a tandem compared to the Mako tandem

Mako... if I ever get the dang thing done, will have more room for gear and paddlers. It will be easier to balance and trim it out.
Northwind will be an ok tandem but with some limits on load capacity.
Speed comparison: They are going to be close. Mako is 3' longer but not as refined hull cross section shape as the North Wind.
