I guess mistakes are inevitable for a newbie builder. I glued in quad reinforcing pieces inside the forward scuppers on the Sabalo. I thought they looked a bit odd at the time but it's only now that I realised my mistake.

How would you suggest I handle this? I can try chiselling them out and using a file to smooth the inside. Any other suggestions?

Everything else is coming along very well. I will put up some pics soon.

not 100% sure what you mean. Glued in too many scuppers? Picture?

This. The reinforcing quad pieces are inside the scupper. This isn't how it is supposed to be is it?

I have never seen the plans but assuming they are not meant to be there (they look like they shouldn't be) I would try to gouge them out to a concave shape - sort of like a large timber fillet. As they are now if you leave them convex they will be almost impossible to get the glass to sit in those sharp corners without having large air bubbles under it.

I can't think of any tool better than a gouge to do it with. Of course you may not have a gouge but if I were in that situation I would use it as an excuse to buy a useful tool that I don't have.

Maybe someone else has some other ideas.........

Do you have a dremel mate? I would clean them out to concave with one.

Of course, yes I have a dremel bit for my drill. I will try that.
As usual the collective wisdom here comes to the rescue. Actually, by making these concave it will end up neater and stronger. Mistake made for the better.

Just coat them in epoxy really well. Won't hurt a thing. You could glass over them if you wanted.

Thanks Matt. Nice to know, but for the sake of looks I might clean them up anyway. I'll see how I feel after thinking about it. They aren't really noticeable unless you look really close.

By the way. In the Sabalo instructions there seeme to be no specific instruction as to when to remove and replace the sub floor frames. I assume that they are removed after tacking the hull and replaced again after filleting. Is that correct?

Also, how many stitches and where do you recommend placing them when stitching the floor frames to the hull sections?

Have a look at the BOSCH multitool I think it would work, there some also cheeper copy's around

You could try "un doing" the e-poxy with heat from an electric heat gun. By concentrating the heat on the wood that can be replaced you may well not damage the big bits
e-poxy and heat don't get on, so it might pry apart
