How about adding silica with the graphite? I understand silica does make the surface more scratch risisitant.

Reckon this would be an issue only if the graphite/resin surface was sanded. Why sand back a protective layer?
I sanded back the graphite on the bottom of my Okwata and after giving it a good wash I have not experienced any rubbing off on me or my clothing at all. I reckon that if the graphite is left encapsulated in the epoxy there would be no benefit of a more slippery hull. After sanding it certainly feels much more slippery when you rub your hand over it. I doubt whether it makes the boat go any faster, but it certainly helps it slide through weeds and over logs more easily.
