How about adding silica with the graphite? I understand silica does make the surface more scratch risisitant.
I sanded back the graphite on the bottom of my Okwata and after giving it a good wash I have not experienced any rubbing off on me or my clothing at all. I reckon that if the graphite is left encapsulated in the epoxy there would be no benefit of a more slippery hull. After sanding it certainly feels much more slippery when you rub your hand over it. I doubt whether it makes the boat go any faster, but it certainly helps it slide through weeds and over logs more easily.Reckon this would be an issue only if the graphite/resin surface was sanded. Why sand back a protective layer?
