 Post subject: Rule of Thumb ?

After having some difficulty with the accuracy of my drawing of the frames on the first kayak, I am trying to establish
something to go by for a quick check regarding the frames.
Can it be said that usually the edge or section of the frame will be slightly larger than the width of the panel that mates with it?
