Bow and stern Hello Matt

Matt
Using the Northwind for example. If the stern had the same slope and shape as the bow how much difference would it make performance wise.
I have a fellow here that is wanting to do some races and is a rower , thats great but going through swift water and rapids backwards might get a little wild.
We were thinking of swapping ends of the boat as you went into the rapids and going through them like a guide skiff they use trout fishing, then in the long deep water swap to conventional style rowing for the extra speed and power.
