Matt
I was laying out the frames for Freedoom and I noticed they are not divided equally (14 1/16 across top of frame one bow ) 7 1/16 to one side . I assumed they should be equal the same on frame 3
Should i just center a line then use outside measurement and then divide it equally.
Thanks
Ron

gonna beat me up over 1/16" huh?

lol....just kidding. It's a good observation. It's due to rounding off in my drafting software. It would split even if I went down to 1/64".

In any case, go with 7-1/16" to the left and right.

Matt sorry about that(laughing)
I was in the steel fab business for a lot of years. Dealt with lot of prints
and always ask sometimes its done on purpose so I don't assume anything.
Thought you might have known I was right handed and muscled up more on that side so preloaded boat to go straight lol
Thanks for the speedy reply

no problem. You have a good eye.

I've done my share of work where .0005" meant the difference between scrap and profit.

Matt and Ron,

Been around engineering drawings for almost 20 years now, too, being an oilfield trash tool designer.

Was looking at the Free Laker plans, page 6, on frame 4. One taper side is 3-1/2", then 4-1/4 across the top flat. Assume 3-1/2 on the right taper, and we get 11-1/4.

I'll go with 3-1/2" on each side, would that be right?

Thanks,
Billy

G'day Billy,

Laker frame 4 is the rear most temp frame on the boat.

Working from the centre of the frame out to the sides the measurements are as follows.

1. Centre to to the side of the top....... 2 1/8" Total Width.....4 1/4"
2. Centre to top of side panel seam - ..5 1/2" Total Width....11"
3. Centre to bottom of side panel -...2 15/16" Total Wth.... 5 7/8"

Measurements DOWN from the Top of the frame.

1 To top of side panel - ..................................................1 1/4"
2. To bottom of side panel .............................................10 1/2"
3. To Bottom of panel ....................................................11 1/16"

Mick,

Thank you for the measurements. I suppose a 1/16 of an inch here or there won't make a difference anyway, just thought I'd check.

Thanks,
Billy
