Heya Surfman,

Thanks for the tips re walking the dog mate!

The blokes on the pro bass and barramundi circut here have been havig good success with that but I wasn't sure how they did it. My best success so far has bee with 2" surface poppers early in the mornings in very skinny water. I lose a lote of lures being towed into the trees and such so I buy the cheap ones from Cabelas now.
also a big fan of the braided lines :D

GD, best success I have had with soft plastics iswith the Atomic range, mainly in the 3" and 4" grub range. also had pretty good success with the Squidgee slick rigs in 110mm.

Re the rod holders, these are the ones I use.

They are identical to a Scotty only much cheaper and the round mount makes for a very neat and easy mount. superb quality, the best I have seen.

They work very well for me on the fore-decks of my kayaks.
