JEM Watercraft

Well couple days ago I got started on this boat
Have been playing with the tv its starting to look like a boat




got the tumble homes stitched on





Its coming right along
I am really excited about this boat like the swede form hull shape , v bottom and just 2 inches wider than the Laker but a much longer water line at 15 ft I think this boat is going to be the one for me even more than the Laker Like I said I am excited.

Did you find it helpful to have 8 temp frames in stitching the hull together?

they worked so well I didn't splice my tumble homes will do that on the boat.

How did the lower bow/sterns stems come together (where it rounded off at the bottom)?

Any issues getting it all to come together in that area?

They are a little stiff I will turn the boat over today and be able to tell you more.

I think it is amazing how the humble pirogue has evolved.

A basic piroge was allways a very good boat in its own right. In the last 12 months or so, Matt has taken the concept, and refined it into what we are watching take shape here - Something that is so much more!, - Simple, Functional, practical and oh so elegant. I love it!

The sections you are talking about came together with a little work but I am using 1/8 ply I don't think you could use 4 or 6 mm Ply and form it.
With 1/8 inch gives a really good look to front of the boat.

Mick I think this boat I am going to like better than the Laker.

If the point on the bottom sheets was extended about 1/2 to 3/4 inch it would work well.

Do you think i should extend the bottom panels by 1/2 to 3/4 inches on both forward and stern panels as Ron suggests? Thanks
