Nice Jimmy, looking real well. Ply looks to be thickish?
Wouldn't worry too much about closing the ends up, they're good for letting water out of the boat as well.

The plywood is only 4mm, it does look thicker in the photo.

My bet is that you will come to cherish this boat. It will be a superb solo boat, and a decent dual.

My "Katie Bug" canoe is 13.5 X 30. With me (210) and Katie (50) and gear (80-100) in, it has about 8"-9" of freeboard. You're going to be able to take along that kitchen sink if you want to. (I have a buddy who loves to portage; I'll rent him out to you.)

Here are two more. Bow and stern are closed up and the center seam is tacked.

The inside is now glassed and sheer clamps are installed.
