Freedom 13

Well, here goes. Got the plans several weeks ago, mulled 'em over, email'd Matt a couple of times with questions, so it's time to cut bait.
My situation is a little different from many. I have limited space (one of the reasons I chose the 13) and only basic tools. I have a leg up, having build a kayak from free plans found on the internet, so I've been through it once already. It came out ok, in that it floated...less stable than I was comfy with however, due to the rounder bottom.
If you're doing a 13, or similar, feel free to chime in here with your pix etc. Not that I'll be of much help. But the sages that hang out here are pretty good. :D

Since I can't figure out how to put pix inside my message, this'll have to do until I can get smarter re: computer stuff.

pics are a little over sized. That's why they don't show up. But links work.

That thing looks like it's a mile wide. WOW! Good luck on your build.

Have you finished the Freedom 13 and taken it for a test cruise yet? I'm curious to hear out it handles etc.

It's nearly there...I kinda modified the cockpit to fit my rather large girth, and added a hatch in the aft deck for a small cooler and junk. Pix soon. Put the lid on just today.

p.s. general info...I used the Duckworks "Small Boat Kit" of their MarinePoxy, which works very nicely...I choose the 'medium' hardner, which wasn't too good an idee here in Central Florida, U.S.A. The last few months, it's been 80 F and higher outside, and I enjoyed about a 5 minute working time with the stuff....reordered a kit with 'slow' hardner and had a much easier go of it. Of course, right about then the weather turned, and it's about 65 outdoors now. Can't win.

Slow going...having to go to work sure interferes with things...added a couple pix to my photobucket...

Got the deck on, almost-last epoxy today. Will probably go put it in the water tomorrow. More pix also soon

OK, hope I got this right...about finished with my little Freedom...still some trim work and etc. but I put it in the water yesterday. I can see the thumbnails in "Preview" mode, so if they can't be seen, let me know. Basically I dumped 'em all into Photobucket and picked up their "Generated HTML, Ebay and IMG Code", so this sounds right.

So if the seat was raised up around 6 inches, how stable would the boat be? Could you stand up in it reasonably well?
