Looks like a good start Neon.

Are you going to make a panel out of the strips and then put it together SSG style or lay the strip individually on the assembly?

I presume the darker strips are WRC but what it the lighter - some kind of pine?

Caught up and passed me already :D
In my defense, I've been flat on my back for nearly 2 weeks with lower lumbar problems...
I hate gettin' old! :x
Looking good. I'm keen to see how she turns out.

Bob, I'm going to build the top panel SSG style. And yes the lighter wood is white pine, the darker cedar, and the others are some type of mystery wood lol. I don't know what that stuff is.

John, I hope you get to feeling better. Your prolly going to catch up with me soon because I'm fixin to help my parents move half way across Texas and on top of that I still have to order fibreglass and epoxy.

I did make some progress today and got most of the boat stitched together. My hands hurt from twisting wire and that stuff is sharp! Between all the splinters from the luan and the cuts from the wire my hands are in pretty bad shape!

What is your plan for traction on the deck so that you can stand with out slipping? Plain varnish can be pretty slippery when it has water on it.
Seems that it would be a shame to cover all those strips with a big ol' deck pad.

I don't have a plan for traction on the deck. Good point. Your right, I don't want to cover up that deck. I wonder if I could mix something with the epoxy on the deck to increase grip. Maybe just in the standing area.
