It could be done. Wouldn't have as much displacement so it would be for a smaller paddler.

There's a couple other project I'm finishing off first.

Either,or. Kinda wanting to see one completed. A few ideas on how she might behave/handle. Beam? Capacity. But mostly a "Look" if you know what I mean. That kinda stuff.

I was originally building this one for my ex wife. A smaller persons Okwata. At 5'4" and about 115 pounds (55kgs) i thought it would have done her nicely as a sea kayak.

I think with someone of powerful stature like Jacko, this boat will bloody fly. I just lost interest in the build is all. Way too much other stuff going on at the time.

Hey Mick, 's all good. Not having a go just wondering how the finished article will present. Think there are more than one or two other people interested as well. At 5' 6" and 145lbs I reckon It would still be very adequate size wise for me. Mainly for fishing but also a bit of wandering around.
Mate of all the people on here you would be the last to have to explain yourself. Hmmm... although you are responsible for getting a whole heap of folk into this wood boat thing

I just hope along with most other folk, things have settled down a bit for you and that you are able to do whatever rocks your boat

I think the design is a winner but I just have way too much on my plate at the moment to even think about finishing her off. While the boat was being built for a smaller person, I think she will be very capable as a low volume, high performance kayak for someone up to around - perhaps 120 to 130kgs. Matt could enlighten us a bit more perhaps.

Sorry guys haven't been doing much except mowing on the days off I've had off lately and haven't been on the forum for quite a while. I'm going to have to wait until after Christmas until I can get this thing under way again. I have been very slack I know, I've had a few drama's lately but It seems to be sorted now so I can put my efforts back where they should be, geting this Cobia finnished and in the water, also I haven't worked with Mick lately he usualy gets me inspired
