I fitted the first coaming strips (9mm x 9mm tassie oak) yesterday and the second row today. The picture shows the first strips clamped in place.
I have to go away for a week or two on thursday and was hoping to have it ready for sea trials before then. At the moment it will be touch and go and I sure am starting to get impatient.

BTW the Northwind as a boat looks pretty good in pictures, but it is the type of craft that looks even better in the flesh. It seems to have a classical elegance and timeless beauty that the camera just cannot capture. If it sails half as good as it looks I'll be absolutly stoked. Thanks for the design Matt.

Wow! pretty boat. I'll just stick to making... um utility boats
I thought I had done well getting a 14 foot boat to come in at 19 and a little bit. You sure you haven't filled it with helium?
Good a place/time as any to ask if anyone has any views on adding weight to a boat once you get it to the water??? water filled bladders, big plastic bottles. Sounds a bit counter intuitive I know but I was wondering about glide, and sitting lower in the water on a windy day.
