In doing the inside glass I use 2 short pcs. at each end and one big pc. down the center...

Their are no bulkheads...I will use foam block wedged in each end..

OK I weighed it on the bath scale and it is 32 lbs. so far..
Took it to the lake this morning which is 4 miles away was kind of windy and paddled about 1 1/2 miles...I love it Ron..
Now I have one I can take my 6 yr. old grandson in...
My seat is 8'' up and real stable...could almost stand up in it..be cool to have a telescoping seat post...

Now to graphite the bottom and rig for seats etc..etc..

Well guys thanks... and Ron how much did you're TV weigh striped down? And how much weight did you have in it total tracking up and down the river... Me I weigh in at 150 and maybe max a boat out at 200 with seat and every thing for fishing...I know it is a trade off for stability to be able to raise up the seat but doesn't more weight ( making it run deeper) help a boat to track better in the wind on open water..

I had a lot more stuff on my T-V than you do , four and a five foot decks ,
extra bulkhead for the cooler ,I think it was around 45 lbs with no seat.
I did weigh 250 and had a load of better than 250 lbs , everything included probably close to 600 lbs. She paddled fine.
The open cockpit that you built will catch more wind than mine.

Clamp mount rod holder...

The wood hook in the background is a rod holder that keeps it out of the way under the tumblehome panel..

This style of gunnel is easy to make ash strips with 4''walnut pcs cut at at an angle and spaced 5'' apart. Glue and pin the walnut pcs. to the inside ash strip then epoxy to the inside of the hull. I clamp it on then use my brad nailer and shoot from the outside into each walnut pc. then remove the clamps the brads hold it in place. Then I epoxy the outside ash strip and clamp it and brad nail it on...
