My new Townsend canoe

Post by stevieb »

Well, I finally got the boat wet today!! :D I've posted a few random pictures of the build and the maiden voyage;

Now, I need help. It seems I may have followed some poor advice and mounted my stern seat a little too far back. The canoe feels less than stable from the back, although My wife thinks it is quite stable from the bow. Would lowering and moving the stern seat forward help to alleviate some of this?

Also, on another subject, do any of you have experience with Kevlar felt skid plates? I know they don't look all that nice, but would it be worth it to save the hull from damage?
