Just got my plans and have started cutting patterns out of sublinoleum ply since I have a 16 x 4 marine ply I had already scarfed and glued for other project. I built a Cajun secret and its a nice piro. I just liked what I read and saw with the TV. Ron's posts were major influence. Hope I can do has good a job. Bill

using ply patterns seemed easier way to get measurements right on the 4x16' piece. And I got all panels from just two sheets.

had to glue up one of the small panels but the other 5 are full length

I'm looking forward to seeing this build. I have long considered the TV, and will probably build one after I finish what I am working on now. I have the plans for both sizes of the TV.

The frames are all loosely attached now. I was thinking of putting two 2x4s along the tops of the frames so I can flip it over at this point to tighten and trim the fit before putting on the second set of panels. A backwards strongback I guess. Any potential issues with doing that? ie are the tops of the frames supposed to be in the same plane? I realize it could affect rocker but I will be able to take them off when putting on the second set of panels which really set the rocker at that point.

flipped over on temp strongback

this made it easier to tighten frames to bottom. I realize I need the easy button more these days...

flipped back with sides starting to go on.

the aha moment when it starts to look like a boat!

Boat is starting to look bigger...
One question I have is if you put fore and aft decks on, how should you make the transition of outside rubrail (at the gunnel height)? just start and end at the decks? I have not seen anyone go all the way from bow to stern but maybe I missed it. and what size should it be? thanks
