Well here's a lesson learned: Apply your dye before panel splicing or be darn sure there's no epoxy covering any of the surface you want to dye/stain.

I'll have to figure out how I want to try to solve that. Prob try to spot-sand it out and reapply the dye.

Matt,
Great thought for a memorial!
I sympathize with you loss, my own mom she passed in 2007 at age 90.
Hope & pray your dad's doing as well as you seem to be.

Ok after much trial and error with the dye, I got the color I wanted

That picture is with the dye and one coat of epoxy. I applied a thin coat of epoxy because if you let a single drop of sweat hit the uncoated dye surface, it leave a nice "raindrop" kiss that you have to reapply the dye to work out.

I'm using Raka for this build and it's very builder friendly. No smell, easy to measure and mix, nice and thin.

That is what I used on all of my builds and was really happy with the results.

Just curious (maybe for a future build, as I already got Raka's "medium" hardener for now),
Where does that 350 hardener fit on the fast-slow continuum?

That is a nice hot-rod color you came out with.

It is. I hit a few snags and it's been pretty hot and humid. But the air is getting cooler so it will be time to jump back on it.
