Well done Matt. If my wife decides she wants one that will be the one I will build for her. It would be nice to see the detail (but obviously that is only for buyers). A scupper in the seat area is a definite improvement. I would still probably put two scuppers in the front because a console is easier to build with a scupper either side, but that's a personal thing.
The 12' would also be lighter, which is a good thing. Weight can be a bit of an issue for the 15' when it is fully fitted out (at least for me, a first time builder).
You are a design machine Matt! You are fast becoming (if not already) the No.1 wooden kayak designer worldwide in my book, particularly for recreation/fishing kayaks.

Hey everyone, new guy here. I just sent for the plans for the Sabalo 12. I found out about this site from Scott. We belong to the same kayak fishing site/club here in New England. I have built a couple of strip kayaks in the past. I do plan on doing some strip work on the Sabalo. I have been looking for plans for a good SOT fishing boat for awhile and I'm sure I have found them now. My only concern is, at 240lbs, it might be a little small for me. I am also a Hobie fishing team member so the idea of a wood boat with the mirage drive is a cool idea.
