Great build Darrell.

I like those pics from the side - they show what a wonderful profile she has.

I was tied up until about 6:00, but I snuck off to the Middle Bosque for a quik first paddle. She is great. Fast and stable and will turn on a dime. If the Pirogue is a truck this is a Cadillac. I think it will handle even better with more of a load than just my weight. I am extremely happy with this first paddle.

On another note. This just pisses me off that people would waste a natural resource this way.

Absolutely gorgeous boat. You are inspiring me to finish my strip canoe.

I totally agree. If you don't want to keep them, put them back in the water.

As far as bluegills and green-eared sunfish go, those will probably end up in the belly of a racoon or bird. God feeds the sparrows too! I just don't like the stench, that's why I'd throw 'em back.

I love these foot braces from BrazosBoatWorks.com. They are simple to adjust and are built heavy duty. I installed them earlier today but with the cool wet weather the epoxy is not setting too fast. I also did alittle work on the front of the coaming so I have to say the boat is all but finished. This will be the last regular update, but I hope all of the new boat builders will continue to check out this post there is alot of knowledge to be gained here. Matt, Thank You again for all of the help along the way.

PS:
Notice the mud in the bottom? It is already starting it's decline to a fishin' vessel.

A freind and myself hit the Bosque River yesterday after work. Caught a few catfish and had a great time. The new boat handles wonderfully. It is easy to paddle, very stable and glides well. Matt did a wonderful job of designing this boat,it is a keeper.

After all of the recent rain the river is running and muddy which the catfish love. The Smallmouth Buffalo are spawning now and there must have been two thousand of themsplashing and chasing eachother around. Not a bad catch for an hour and a half.
