Sounds like you could use a doubler at the area of the peg mounts. Maybe, even full length from bolt to bolt, and a bit beyond? Maybe a doubler under the seat mounts too? I'd put these inside, of course.

G'day Preacher,

Man, I just found this thread and boy, I am glad I did! It is a bloody cracker!! :D

I love your boat mate and the way you have set her up. A spectacularly good fishing boat, built by a fisherman to catch fish and that seat just blows me away. 8)

Oh man, I think I am gonna have to build another pirogue - just to fit a seat like that.

6 Large Mouth Bass in two hours?  Outstanding :D fly or lure?

Your LMB look very similar to our bass and so far I have only managed one hot bite like that in my life.

A question if you don't mind please,

How much rocker is in your lovely boat?
Regards,
Mick

Thanks for your kind remarks. The seat is awesome and I had to pay $29.95 for it at Wal Mart. I love my SOT's but this Pirogue with this seat gives me a much higher view without losing stability. I will be fishing the Corpus Christi, Texas area next weekend and following week. Hoping to fill the Bumble Bee with Bull Reds and some Spotted Sea Trout.

I pushed the sidewalls out enough to open the cockpit out into a square box and also to lift the rocker to 1 1/2 inches at each end. With the front of my seat located right behind the center mark it worked out like a champ. I was smart enough to install the seat mount with industrial velcro. That way I can move it forward or back according to the load.
