Well folks,I think this is going to be a winner, building the panels with the curve in them gives you a machined edge to mate up to ,I have never had a boat stitch up so easily.
As you can see in the pic the boat had more twist than I though,I dont think thats a problem with the twist. also I dropped one of the sides off the horse when I was stitching it together ,a ply panel would have broken ,this never missed a lick.
So far I havent found a thing I dont like about building one this way.

Now for you guys that want a really slick ss@g Matt says he can draw the panels full length with no problem. ,no splices, a whole lot less measuring,I have already figured out how to do it staplless.

Ron, the problem with that hull is that it's in your shed and not mine  . Jealousy really is a curse isn't it?

I notice the tops of your frames are flat which kind of brings us back to questions about the original point of this thread. Are you going to have a curved deck or stitched flat panels again? I really like a curved strip deck and want to know if it can be done without using a strongback.

I hate to say this but I dont like the curved decks,so mine will be a three section flat panel decks. If you go back to my Cuda build ,they will be close to that,a balanced deck ,same height front and back ,very low in front, pretty open cockpit. I like the square angles,I even drive a jeep,LOL also I found this design seems to be the best as far as paddling into the wind and weather cocking.
Plus I wanted a build that didnt have to have a strong back to build it

Not to hijack your thread , just to set the record straight.......
OK , Ron , Careful about what you say concerning the Jeep , remember others ( like myself) drive them and consider them the Classic Vehicle Design for the outdoors man. An Icon of the wilderness and exploring not to even mention freedom of a vehicle that will go anywhere that only they can deliver. Almost like a Pirogue or Canoe as far as representing the greatness of the outdoors and being there , a free spirit for our everyday enjoyment. :D

Jezeeee , they are even better at it then a floppy felt hat , Lace up hunting boots , a red and black checkered shirt and a pipe emitting that wonderful smell of good tobacco while the smoker sits by a campfire or fireplace with his best furry 4 footed buddy curled up by his side. I guess the word I am looking for is ....... Traditionalist.

OK ... I have to admit , the smell of a wood boat coming together and the sawdust , epoxy and fiberglass is almost as enjoyable , if not more , especially the anticipation of when you are going to get to paddle it and have all that fun with it.

Matt... Before you say anything .......I promise you.....
Off to the corner and I promise I will sit there for a while , contemplating what I said on here while tieing some artificial flys to use for fishing.

Chuck.

I agree with your thoughts about a hybrid option.
