Hey All, I'm new here but have been watching for quite a while now, Mick (Hairymick) has got me hooked, all he talk's about is bloody boats I'm about to take over Hairymick's Cobia 15 that he has 1/2 > 3/4 built as he has his sights set on something else. Mick will be guiding me through some of the finer bits. I have a 16' fiberglass canoe but have always wanted to build a timber canoe/kayak. I hope I can do the Cobia justice as it will be the first one built I believe. It is a change to the Otwata design, that Mat & Mick have worked on so I will post my progress here if I can ever get my home computer working again I have to wait until Mick & I have the same day off so I can pick up the Cobia & make a small space in Mick's shed. That man has some boats!!!!

Thanks Ron, Must admit I'm a bit nervous, don't want to stuff it up but I'm lucky, Mick has the hardest part done and only lives 15min away so help isn't that far away for me.

G'day Jacko and welcome aboard mate. Guys, let me introduce my mate, Jacko. I work with him (poor bugga) and have had the pleasure of watching his craftsmanship in working with wood. He is a true gentleman and a scholar and his talents are many and varied. I have no doubt that he can/will do this magnificent design justice and I think he is being unduly modest. We have shared much in recent difficult times and I am proud to call him my friend.

What is the Cobia? Any pictures or a plan view? I am very curious.
