How are we doing in floods and snow?

Worth mentioning but don't fit in other categories.

All good here thanks Bruce. The floodwaters that get to the Murray mouth will be of benefit after having drought or near drought for most of the last 10 years.

We got the tail end of the stuff that hit Victoria.

A few places had some flash flooding but nothing to worry about.

Our local river had its highest flood since the 70s but still all OK .

You guys down under can't get a break these days now a typhoon. Up north here in the US they are getting pounded in snow, just wait till the spring thaw and we will see a lot of flooding.

One thing I saw that made me curious is in NY, I think it was, they showed a mountain of snow that had been plowed up to clear the streets. Why don't they just dump that into the river or bay and let it melt there instead of letting it thaw out and flood everyone in the spring, couldn't they do the same thing in Chicago?

a couple of years ago I was at Mannum and was amazed by the signs up in trees showing the 1956 flood height.
