Our DK

Post by firestang »

Well we've been building a DK for a while now and at last we have been able to make some progress on it.

This is a couple of pics of setting up the seating frames and inserts as well as one of the boards that will form the front deck.

Looks like a nice job you're doing there Mate. Those decks and seats are going to look really attractive- good looking wood combos....

Hopefully it will look ok. :)
All of the timber for it is from scrap and the ply is from packing sheets from larger bulk packs of timber. The only timber i have bought for it are for the in and outwales and that is nothing to expensive, only structural grade pine to be bale to cut the long lengths for the strips.

we've painted the hull and getting things together slowly.
The seat frames and inserts have been made.
The bow deck on this end has been resined just to see the effect.

still on the move with the dk although a bit slow.
here is a look at the laminated deck for one end. We have painted inside and out and have to fit the inwales and the seats and frames are almost done as well.
