I've been using this little trick to close up the Stern and Bow ends, especially the bottom-most hull panels that have some complex bending to go through to come together.
I cut some 3/8" dowels, about 3/4 to 1" long. Cut a short groove to help hold the wire in place. (one on the backside of the loop and 2 very shallows ones on the twist ends of the wire) Drill 2 holes in each panel about 1/2 apart where I want the hulls to pull in closer.
Wire the holes, going around the dowels. It's best to pull the panels in by hand a little when tightning up the wire twist so you won't break the wire. If the wood is being strained, give it rest, work on the other end or somewhere else before coming back to it. Use regular stitches on the end to help hold it tight as you bring the panels closer.
I should add that both wires run through drilled holes. None of the wires should be outside the edge of the plywood. I think the dowels would roll off if that was the case.

Yeah, I'd like to see a picture or a sketch. The verbal leaves several possibilities for configuration. Sure as hell I'll pick the wrong one!
