skeg on 15' dingy
skeg on 15' dingy
If I row the dingy would it tract straight or do I need to add a skeg? Since we have a lot of oyster bed here in Bonita Springs, Fl, I thought that the skeg would minimize bottom scrappings. What's your thoughts on skegs?

Applying a skeg for the dingy is a good idea if it is rowed. The tracking would be better and especially at the low speed rowing normally is the skeg would be an advantage. The skeg can easily be made from laminating some plywood thus giving the skeg a certain thickness.
