Last big panels have been added, next the fun begins...resin, fiberglass, filleting, sanding, sanding, sanding and some more sanding

Looks to me like you forgot the sanding step. It can take a while.

Yea sanding is a necessary evil in boat building.

I've learned, the hard way, to minimize sanding by working as neat as possible and cleaning resin up before it cures. But you still need to sand, sand, sand, sand...did I mention sanding?

I always heard it was a love-hate relationship, you start out loving it and end up hating it in the end....

It's an old woodworker's saying, "You can't ship it until you hate it." Usually, right when I finish something I loathe it -- I can see every misjudgment, bad joint, and poor finish detail. I can't imagine that I ever built something so defective. Again usually, six months or a year later I look at it again and think, "That's not so bad. It's a lot nicer than that factory made *thing* over there. Maybe I do know what I'm doing."

I probably need to see a psychologist.

I am at the exact same point in my boat. It is good to hear that all the defects I see may just be in my head and are not so visible to everyone else.

I have found that a rasp (a really coarse file) is a very good thing and saves on sanding. I only figured this out recently.

Been awhile....No more wire ties, she's standing on her own...transom is in place, a little more sanding and I will be ready for some biaxial tape...

Haven't heard any thing about BucX for awhile. I have been interested as I have a 15hp Evenrude that needs a home and I need a winter project.

I added the rails a few days ago....Need some biaxial fabric and the bottom will be ready for finishing...She looks good, can't wait to see her in some backwater slough....

I hope to get her glassed and flipped over soon....suppose to leave the country for a month, so if that happens it will be awhile...

Go ahead and get started, she isn't easy to build, but she is fun to build...I've enjoyed working on her....I'll help you if I can
