How about a side view of the bow jig so others can see?

She's coming along and looking good!!

I will get some when I do the stern tonight after work

Some how I never got any time on the weekend to do any work on the Wadefish but did get a few minutes tonight.

I started to glue a small section of the bow to see how I would go.

I have glued a bit more of my hull together & started gluing the long pieces of the other one together. So in another day or so I will have the 2 side by sideone being stitched & te other glassed.

Work will now take off on both boats as I am now on long service leave. 11 weeks with nothing to do but build boats & fish

Finally got some more done on my Wadefish

All glued up & ready to fillet





Now I can start to stitch the second one together.

Not a lot more done in the last few days.

I have sanded the complete outside of the hull & gone back & touched up any joints that were a bit hollow. I have also cleaned up the inside of the hull & given it a sealing coat before I laid down the masking tape to fillet the inside of the joints.

I did this as when I removed the masking tape from when I did the outside of the joints (so it didnt run through to the inside) the tape wanted to pull the ply as it came off.

I have also given the second boats pieces a sealing coat as we want this to be a nice clean pine finish & Im hoping this will stop any mark getting on it as we stitch it up etc.

By the end of today it should be stitched together & maybe we may even be starting to glue it up.

I have also found some plans for a rudder & am making 1 up to see how it looks & fits. Plus I have some drawings of the Mirage Drive Well that I am hoping to have made up by the weekend.

I have to wait a bit for the fibreglass so I am dooing the other bits that I can.

Got a bit more done this morning.

Did one side of the internal fillets on my boat started on the daughters.



So when we stopped for lunch things looked like this.

Did a bit more after lunch & finished the other side fillets in my boat & started on the rudder.

I copied an idea from Nick Schade in his book "The Strip-Built Sea Kayak"

I am going to glue an 8mm Stainless Steel Bolt in the end pour of the Wadefish & use that as the pin of the rudder.







A little bit more rounding the curve in the top of the rudder blade so the arm sits down on the housing.

On my wooden rudder, the rudder floated up in the water and eventually broke. You might want to reenforce it with some sort of steel sheet.
