Wow, that IS interesting, so many choices and I can only build 2 boats a year!

From what I've read of the sailing canoes of the past (late 1800's early 1900's, a decked canoe (JEMS's SouthWind looks like it compares pretty good) seemed to be the norm. Of course, we've advanced since then but the pioneers of the sport still hold sway. Just google Sailing Canoes or Decked Sailing Canoes to get some ideals.
