Bill of Materials

3 sheets total

Epoxy Resin (With 15% waste factor)

1.25 gallons (4.7 L)

Fiberglass Tape: 100 yards (91 M)
Wood Flour 2 quart (2 L)
This BOM is for a basic hull. Click here all build options and a downloadable BOM.

Cost to build range from about $340 for a basic hull to $800 for an ultra tough, very lightweight version.

Review our kits to compare how costs meet your desires. The Freedom Kayak is easy enough for a beginner builder to draw and cut them selves. A builder who chooses to draw and cut out all the panels by hand can save around $150 over the cost of CNC cut kit.

However, if you want the best materials and they are not available in your local area, then the precut kit might be worth considering.

The hull will required about 55-65 hours to complete. You can save about 10-15 hours with a precut kit. These times are rough estimates and will vary according to the skill of the builder. Please note these are "hands on" hours and do not include the time waiting for epoxy to cure.
