Well I think I am right about the one gadwal. The Can threw me off, don't get many of those up this far on the midwest flyway.

Re: Hello. Wood Source? Build Options?

Cardwell Lumber. There main location is in Novelty about twenty miles north east of Macon. They send white oak a...

Mat,
That is quite an extensive list of plywood suppliers. Got one for Missouri? I have called around a bit but have not found any.

Re: Northwind S&G or Strip?
Woodman...you're the MAN. It was nice meeting you at the race start. We will have to get together and do some paddling, hunting fishing one of these days. I would love to see your fleet in person.
Thanks for the offer.

Re: Northwind S&G or Strip?
Ron, You mean making flat panels from strips then cutting out the pieces from them? I would think as narrow as some of the pieces are in the S&G Northwind that might look a little funky....might look pretty cool also.

Re: Northwind S&G or Strip?
Thanks, these are some good considerations. Yep, the milling of strips perplexes me a bit, doing them right will require more saw than I own and I will need to beg the services of someone that does. Seems to me the best saw would be a good band saw with a good rip fence, from what I have read a tabl...

Northwind S&G or Strip?
I have pretty much decided the Northwind will be my next project. I have slapped together two flat bottomed pirogues, and built my extreme stretch TV S&G. Learned a lot in the process. I am thinking the stripper might be easier to build than the S&G just because there are so many panels to t...

Canoe no, sea kayak maybe, if you learn how to Eskimo roll before you try it. Sea kayakers play in big breakers all the time.

Re: Cutting Fingers instead of butt blocks
I guess the reason I go through extra pains to make butt joints is purely in my head. This is the third boat i have built the first two I ground a nice long scarf joint on end to end seams. This time I did this wave cut thing I came up with on my own. It is just a matter of wrapping your head around...
