27 Ft. Motor Boat
27 Ft. Motor Boat
I bought the plans for the 27ft. MB and I'm still playing the options of either a stern drive or outboard motor. Pros and Cons and details of installation? What is the maximum horsepower the boat design take? Can I power this with 2 - 300 hp engines? Please advise. Thank you.
Re: 27 Ft. Motor Boat
I am still waiting for an answer to the questions. Is this the support we can get from this site????

Re: 27 Ft. Motor Boat
Thank you for your question. I am sorry I didn't see your message before.
You could go for an outboard mounted at the transom. You would have to make some adjustments since the design is made for the outboard in a transom, but the changes are limited and pretty much straight forward I think.
60 hp is the maximum I recommend for this design.
A stern drive is much to install in this design. I am not even sure there is room for the engine and drive in the hull, so I would not recommend this for the boat. If you want an inboard engine I can recommend using a sail-drive instead of a stern drive.
Kind regards,
Morten
