Let's just say that my buddy didn't get to his current size by laying off the beer. The beer stays with me! On the other hand, he's a first rate fisherman and a great guy! I just can't expect too much paddling out of him.

Put him in the stern and you in the bow, then put a beer (Ice cold) just behind you so he can see it...... My bet is you would be able to pull water skiers with his paddling, not good for fishing unless you are trying for sail fish in the Gulf Stream by skipping a bait over the surface of the water.

Or take a couple of trips and teach him how to paddle since both paddlers should know how no matter where they are in the boat.

When that happens then the trip just becomes a lot more enjoyable. When he gets with the program the next thing you will notice is that he will want his own boat.
One word of warning ... he will be asking you to help him and that is why all of us and you are here , to help folks enjoy life. I have found that helping someone build a boat is almost as much fun as building my own , sometime more fun.

I finally managed to find some solid time to work on the kayak (terrible how work gets in the way) and snap some pictures. At this point the frame is built, the cockpit is assembled and ready to be glassed, and the first half of the hull panels have been butted. See pics below.

I hope to glass the exterior of the cockpit and finish butting/glassing all the hull panels by the end of the week. Then I can begin stitching the hull over the weekend.

Glassed the exterior of the cockpit and got a coat of epoxy on it today. Pictures below. Hoping to finishing butting the last of the hull panels before the weekend and start stitching on Sunday.
