in the plans the list of materials says 22 yds of 6 ounce 38" wide fibreglass cloth. As this is my first experience of buying can someone confirm I'm looking at the correct stuff here:

http://www.ecfibreglasssupplies.co.u...1mtr-wide.aspx
Glassfibre Cloth - 200g sq Mtr - 1mtr wide

Plain weave Glassfibre cloth @ 200g per sq mt.
Roll width 1 Mt.
Warp: 7 th/cm EC9 134 1 x 0
Weft: 7 th/cm EC9 134 1 x 0

Also the plans say 2.8 US gallons of resin and hardener. How do I convert this into the kilogram packs sold on the UK?

Nuts I knew I forgot something in those plans: Metric conversion.

-6 ounce, 38” wide
-200 g/m, 97mm, wide

-2.8 gallons
-10.6 literes

Thanks Matt - it was only the bill of materials where the conversion was missing.

In the UK it appears epoxy is sold by the kg, not volume. For example West B Pack 6,0Kg 105 with 206.
Water is 1Kg to 1 Litre, but I'm assuming epoxy is heavier. Do you think a 6kg pack would be enough?
Sorry for the dumb questions

The vendor should able to give you an appropriate conversion. Call them to be sure.

Not boring mate - exciting :!: I have nearly finished my first boat, and can't wait to start on the second. It still amazes me we start with those sheets and end up with a boat 8) .

Ahhh, another grey hair. :D This is definitely a hobby for the mid-life-crisis baby boomer! And much cheaper than a Harley.

Have fun and keep the pics coming.

Planks now all cut over the weekend, starting the process of sanding them down and cleaning up the jigsaw cuts.
Epoxy arrived today so I can get straight on with the butt joints as soon as the planks are finished.

I'm getting pretty well hooked on this now

Coming along nicely Falcn. You might as well write off the next couple of months as far as other chores are concerned. This is a fierce addiction!
