frame C off vertical by 1 degree, why?

Post by David »

I am looking over my 15'3'' speed boat plans and noticed that frame C is off of vertical by 1 degree. Does any one know why? What would the problem be if I left frame C vertical? I'm curious what differance 1 little degree could make.
Thanks for your input.

Hi Dave,

The reason for the 1 deg is that on the drawing the boat is upside down. When the boat is put upright the frames will be vertical again.

Now since the frames are connected with the stringers the angel will sort of come by itself. So the only thing you will need the 1 deg for is to check the frames when set up.
