Dk canoe ply wood thickness

Have been through the plans a few tines and cut out all parts .have used 7 mm construction ply as I have loads available at no cost> cant work out with the stich method has the mid panels sitting on top of the bottom panel or do they meet at a point or do the sides fit over the bottom ending flush with the outside bottom? I have even wondered if I should 45 degree bevel the edges of the bottom and mid panel where they meet. Am I being to fussy do I just sew the thing together and hope for the best? First time canoe builder and loving it!!!HELP PLEASE

they are intended to meet on the edges and form a natural channel for the epoxy-glue.
