Please check the Assembly Fixture 1 drawing. Your bottom layout doesn't look right. It should be 3 1/8" wide. Also check the 5 9/16" dimension. The one without wings is a little different than just minus the wings.

OOoops you are right I did look at drawing 1 before I started & then got carried away with drawing 2.

I didnt print the files out because of the scaling thing between the metric pages & imperial sizes.

I have never worked in inches before & its a bit hard some times remembering how to divide fractions

Don't feel embarassed. I do similar things frequently. I will be very embarressed if you find some errors in my drawings or the design. I hope that you realize that you are taking a risk.

The drawings are made to print full size on 11" x 17" paper. If you have access to a printer that can print on paper around that size, I think that if you were to print actual size or no scaling, it should print correctly.

I dislike our measurement system also. Metric is so much simpler.

Yes I know. I am a member of a paddling group here a member I am yet to meet does have a Pro Angler that I hope to get a look at & check the well against his drive.

If I was still at work I could have printed it out any time I wanted. I may get a chance next week.

I do have one measurement that I have a query on. On the base I dont see or see a way of working out the width of the whole base.

The minimum width would be 3 7/16". To reinforce the hull more at the drive well, you could widen it to fit between the frames.

I have shown the base split into 2 pieces so that it can fit tight against the hull. If the hull were flat, no "V", you could make it one piece.

I decided to cut every thing out to plan as I can then cut things down to size to suit when I start to set the drive up to suit my boat.





& cut out ready to glue up & final trim

My wife finished school for the year at 3:30 & we went for a "Quick" 200Km round trip to the only Hobie dealer in Tasmania & got 1 of these.







I also measured the distance from the seat back to the centre of the Click n Go clips.

on the 3 boats I measured the distance ranged from 800mm to 1000mm

I sat down last night & checked the drawings against the drive & I found one thing without a second dimension & not in any other drawing.



The locator for these to sit against.


My plan of attack for today is to work out where the drive is to sit.

Clean the fillet in the centre joint where the "Base Plate" will sit.

Cover the area with duct tape & sit the "Base Plate" in position & glue it back to gether.

This will give me the "V" in the hull.

At the same time I can start to glue up the "Well"

When they are both dry I then can trim the lower edges of the "Well" to fit the "V" of the "Base Plate" & the glue them together.

Once that is done I will then trim the top to suit the "Seat Assembly"

I am thinking of slitting the seat just forward of the hold downs for the Hobie Drive & then raise the front section so it will drain back to the well & not fit a front scupper at all.

I am also thinking it it will be hard to glass the inside of the drive & only coat it in epoxy & glass the outside. ??
